DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: JUNE 30 GOD’S OWN WAYS OF ANSWERING PRAYERS (2) SCRIPTURE: 2 Samuel 12: 14 – 18; 1 Chro. 22: 9; Eph. 3: 20
As briefly seen in yesterday devotional, many passages support the fact that God answers the prayers of those who call upon Him. We saw too that God answered people’s simple prayer of “God Have Mercy” for His mercy has been keeping people every day. In this devotional, we will see that God answers prayers of those who trust and believe in Him. He never turned down prayers offered to Him. This devotional dedicated its reference points to King Solomon and the author of this devotional. God seemed not answering King David’s prayer to spare the child he got from the first seed of adultery after sleeping with Uriah’s wife (2 Sam. 12: 14 – 18). But He made King Solomon came out of the same woman at His good time (1 Chro. 22: 9)._
God answers prayers according to His own timing. He has His own time table for the people He created. Those who are in great haste for what they prayed for will hardly see the results of their prayers. Earthly parents do not always give what their children asked them of immediately or exactly. The parents give what they know will be good for their children and within the good time to give them. This is exactly what God does with us His people. God gives to us according to what He knows will be useful and at a time He knows will be needful to us. If one who is sick prayed and God allowed him or she became deformed by the sickness, it means God wants the person to use the deformation for winning souls. Those with disability but use their conditions for the gospel have converted thousands of souls for God’s Kingdom.
The Beloved in the LORD, you should not turn away from God based on your thoughts that your prayers were not answered. Only ask Him to grant you the patient to wait for His timing. My very self, writing this devotional had many experiences how God postponed answers to my prayers. One of which I will point out is my disappointments in marriage. I prayed to God for early marriage. I told Him Easter period of 1980 is the time. On records, I had six disheartening marriage disappointments between the years 1980 to 1995. When He finally brought the wife I married in 1995, every quality I asked Him for in a wife was in my wife. I saw the Biblical truth that God answers prayer “more abundantly, exceedingly and above all that we asked Him of” (Eph. 3: 20). The caution is just keep on waiting on God after praying to Him. He will answer in the best ways at His best times for you.
PRAYERS:
1. JEHOVAH NISSI, I have realized that my timing for what I need is not your acceptable time.
2. Kindly build my fragile mind up to wait for your best time for me. May I not waste my prayers due to hopelessness in Jesus name!
POSITIVE DECLARATION:
God has not denied me. I am a precious creature to Him. He will surely beautify my days.
