…takes performance as new benchmark
The former governor of Benue state and a resent senator, Mr Gabriel Suswam, during interview, yesterday, October 24, 2024, has withdrawn from his earlier stand against the PDP Acting National Chairman, Amb Umar Damagun, over claim of usurping the exclusive right of the people of Northcentral to produce a replacement for the former PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
According to Mr Suswam, it’s the performance of Damagun that has fueled the agitation from the Northcentral.
Again, without wasting precious time replying or persuading some already sold out ethnic irredentists, let Mr Suswam know the following:
1. That before the last April 18, 2024 PDP NEC meeting, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun received votes of confidence for his outstanding performance from the: PDP BOT, PDP Governors Forum, PDP NWC, and other critical stakeholders, including the teeming young people of PDP.
2. Let Mr Suswam know that PDP has moved beyond this stage of a party elder keep fanning the embers of hate, division, and ethnicity.
3. Let Mr Suswam know that PDP in his state Benue state has gravely degenerated and performed woefully in the just concluded 2023 general elections: PDP lost presidential, gubernatorial, state assembly elections, even in the Benue Northeast senatorial zone, Mr Suswam couldn’t deliver himself and the PDP, despite the massive funding.
4. We’re fully aware that Mr Suswam is presently jobless and has become a forlorn caller to media houses. We will then advise Mr Suswam to join hands with all PDP faithful, expecially former PDP governors and senators, and join Damagun-led NWC to build back PDP. Let Mr Suswam support all the present initiatives to rescue and revamp PDP in Benue state. Resorting to cheap blackmail in politics doesn’t fly again.
5. PDP wants to win more states and bounce back to power in 2027. PDP is now for unity. Let all cooperate and join hands to salvage Nigeria from the socio-economic devastations of the APC government.
