2025 BUDGET: Sen. Babangida Advocates Proper Funding for Art, Culture and Creative Economy

The Senator representing Jigsaw Northwest, Sen. Babangida Hussani (APC) advocates proper funding for the federal ministry of art, culture and creative economy.

The Senator during the senate committee on art, culture and creative economy advocated that for the ministry to fulfil their Mandate as provided.

 

Concerned that the Ministry’s budget is very low compared to the huge funding needs and infrastructure deficit of the ministry, despite it’s potential of adding value to the economy (GDP) appeals that the Senate should work closely with the ministry. Thereby enjoins the committee to invite the director, budget office, and minister of budget for the needful.

 

The committee through its chairman, Sen. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, (Nasarawa South, APC) expresses commitment to supporting the ministry through all available legislative processes.

Thereafter, the committee after a motion adopt the 2024 budget performance report.  yields to Senator Babangida Hussani’s appeal for proper funding for the ministry with and extended invitation to DG Budget Office,Honourable Minister of Budget and National Planning as well Hon. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.

Senator  Babangida Hussani is a first term senator with demonstrated legislative capacity and one of the most outstanding senator in the 10th Senate.

He has 6 Bills to his credit,progressively 66.6% of the Bill awaiting 2nd reading, 16.7% of the bills negative and 16.17% of the bills at committee level.

Sen. Babangida Hussani is a compatriot, committed and focused on education, constituent amendment, works and housing.
