

Breaking News: Edo State Governor Appoints Dr. Loretta Ogboro-Okor As Director-General Of Diaspora Agency
Benin City, March 10, 2025 – The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has officially approved the appointment of Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor as the Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency.
Dr. Ogboro-Okor is a UK-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, a Medical Simulator Expert, and a prolific writer. She is also a United Nations Eminent Ambassador and a Global Goodwill advocate, combining her expertise in medicine with humanitarian efforts.
With degrees from the University of Benin, the University of Edinburgh, and Sheffield Hallam University, she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law and Criminology, focusing on illegal migration, human trafficking, and contemporary slavery at Sheffield Hallam University.
Her new role will further strengthen the Edo Diaspora Working Group and the Edo State Focus Group Worldwide, solidifying Edo State’s global engagement and development initiatives.
This appointment underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to leveraging diaspora expertise for the progress of Edo State.
