Ado Local Government Chairman Hosts Commissioning of Agila Comprehensive Medical Foundation
The Chairman of Ado Local Government, Engr. Sunny Oche hosted His Excellency, the executive governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for the official commissioning of the 56 beds Agila Comprehensive Medical Healthcare Foundation. The Foundation, a generous donation to the Benue State Government by Chief John Otse Aboh ( the Odoojor Y’Agila and Ohaje K’Idoma).
The Healthcare Center which was commissioned by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia (Ph.D) on Saturday, March 22, 2025, drew a large crowd of dignitaries and community leaders to Agila where the facility is situated.
The Agila Comprehensive Medical Foundation as outlined by Chief Aboh, aims to provide holistic healthcare, including clinical services, research, and public health initiatives. It plans to offer practical training for medical students and local residents, addressing the critical need for improved healthcare infrastructure and training in the region. The Foundation’s collaboration with the University of Health Sciences Otukpo Teaching Hospital (UHOTH) was also highlighted as a key component of its strategy. The Foundation was formally transferred to the Benue State Government for management and staffing.
Engr. Sunny Oche, in his address according to press statement e-sign by the Principal Private Secretary to the council Chairman, Innocent Igelle extended a warm welcome to the Deputy Governor, Chief Barr. Sam Ode (Ph.D, mni), representing the Governor. He lauded the Governor’s peace initiatives in Agila and Ngbo, emphasizing the resulting development strides. He praised Chief Aboh’s generosity and expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for fostering public-private partnerships that support community development. The Chairman also highlighted the Council’s needs, including development of a cement and coal factories, provision of tractors for Mechanized farming and addressing the threat of herdsmen attacks, and advocated for a collaborative approach between the Local Government and the Medical Foundation.
The Deputy Governor, representing Governor Alia, officially commissioned the 56-bed facility. Governor Alia, in his message conveyed through the Deputy Governor, commended Chief Aboh’s initiative and reiterated the state government’s commitment to the people of Ado. The Benue State Government made a cash donation of ₦10M to the Foundation.
Following the ceremony, the Deputy Governor and Chief of Staff visited Engr. Sunny Oche’s home, celebrating his contributions and calling for continued support for Governor Alia’s administration. The Chief of Staff emphasized the Chairman’s positive relationship with the government, using the phrase “No body Should Touch Sunny Oche O” as they departed Ado Local Government to catch up with other official engagements in Abuja.
His Royal Majesty, Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, Och’Idoma V. was represented by His Royal Highness, Engr. George Aboh Edeh, Oche Enone.
