Ezza Ezekuna People’s Patriotic Congress Expresses Appreciation to Ado Local Government Chairman, Pledges Support for Benue State Government

The Ezza Ezekuna People’s Patriotic Congress (EEPPC) yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Ado Local Government, Engr. Sunny Oche, to express their gratitude for the appointment of one of their members, Mathias Ogballa, as Supervisory Councilor for Health and to pledge their unalloyed loyalty to the Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia (Ph.D).

The visit, which took place at Engr. Oche’s country home, also served as an opportunity for the EEPPC to reaffirm their commitment to peace and development in the Ado Local Government Area and its neighboring Ebonyi State.

The EEPPC, a non-profit organization dedicated to championing the interests of its people and comprising of members drawn from the Ezzas in Benue, commended Engr. Oche for his efforts in restoring peace and addressing long-standing neglect in the area.The delegation was led by President General Prince Nwakpa Chukwuma and included Comr. Peter Nwachukwu (Chairman, Board of Trustees), Comrade Nwigwe Jacob (General Secretary), Comrade Nweke Cedrick Ifeanyi (National Publicity Secretary), Hon. Agom Mathew (Former SSA to the Governor on Community Relations), Mr. Sunday Nwankwo, Engr. Arinze, and Hon. Nwankwo Joseph (community patrons) and several youth presidents.The group highlighted several key requests, including:

1. Enhanced Security: The EEPPC requested increased security measures for the crisis-prone Odum and Ogebe II communities.
2. Improved Social Amenities: They urged the Chairman to prioritize the provision of essential social amenities currently lacking in their community and to improve road infrastructure.
3. Community Security Collaboration: The EEPPC expressed their willingness to actively participate in maintaining peace and security in their communities.
4. Local Security Enrollment: They called for the enrollment of their youth in local security arrangements, such as the Nigerian Volunteer Guards, to combat cattle rustling and theft.

The EEPPC pledged their unwavering support to Engr. Sunny Oche and the Benue State government, promising to actively participate in voter registration and encourage maximum voter turnout in the upcoming elections. In a significant show of confidence, the group passed a vote of confidence in Engr. Oche, Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia (Ph.D), and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, expressing satisfaction with their leadership and pledging their support in the 2027 elections.

Engr. Oche, visibly pleased by the visit, thanked the EEPPC for their support and urged for continued peace and cooperation between the Ezza Ezekuna community and their Effium neighbors. While promising to attend to their various demands, he encouraged the women to form a cooperative society to access government support and loans, and urged the youth to acquire modern skills to remain competitive in the evolving job market.

The visit according to a report by Principal Private Secretary to The Chairman, Innocent Igelle concluded with an exchange of gifts and a celebratory meal.
