The Member Representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, and Chairman, House of Reps Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, has advocated for self-help development in Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency to complement the occasional government intervention.
Chief Ojema made this advocacy on 20th April, 2025, during the launching of Auke Ibado town hall he attended in person.
“When I saw the invitation letter that Auke is building a town hall for themselves, I immediately called Arch Bishop Cephas Okwori to confirm, and then made a decision to attend and support. It is rare to see communities embarking on mega projects of this magnitude. People rely on government interventions, thereby delaying the supposedly quick developments,” Ojema noted.
Aboh-OcheK’Idoma donated a huge amount of money to support the initiative of Auke Ibado Family Meeting, Lagos Branch while calling on them to unite for the peace and unity of the constituency.
Earlier, Chief Ojema paid a courtesy visit to Och’Auke, HRH, Chief Augustine Ododo Amonjenu, during which he briefed him of the numerous projects he has attracted to Auke Council ward, ranging from Standalone Solar Panels, Boreholes and giving of jobs to some citizens of Auke ward.
Chief Ojema assured the people of Auke of maintaining a close-knit relationship with them for shared benefits.
Responding, Chief Augustine Amonjenu appreciated Hon Ojotu Ojema for his wondrous works.
“I’m not unaware of the many things you have been doing, especially in Auke. On behalf of Auke community, we are appreciate you and we stand with you. May God uphold your steps in all you are doing,” Chief Augustine Ododo Amonjenu said.
In another development, Chief Ojema paid a condolence visit to the family of the immediate past Deputy State Publicity Secretary of PDP and Former Chairman of Apa LGA, Hon Sunday Onehi, who passed unto glory on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025.
“Hon Sunday Onehi is a politician who didn’t have an enemy. Even though he did not support me during primary elections, I enjoyed his support during the general elections. A lot of things came along the way, but we were talking until his painful demise. It is good to emulate his style of politics which is devoid of rancour. May God receive his soul and comfort the family of Hon Sunday Onehi,” Ojema said.
Responding on behalf of the family, Mr Momoh Onehi appreciated Chief Ojema for coming to condone with them.
“When my brother died, you sent people and gave the family money in Otukpo. You also sent the party officials in the Local Government on a condolence visit to Auke, and you are here in person. We are appreciate you,” Mr Momoh Onehi said.
