In a powerful gesture of solidarity and interfaith harmony, leaders from the Muslim Ummah and the Christian Association of Southern Kaduna paid a historic courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, on June 4, 2025.

The visit underscored a renewed commitment to peacebuilding and coexistence in a region once marred by religious and ethnic conflict. Both delegations spoke with one voice, praising General Musa’s inclusive and people-centered leadership style, which they credited for the region’s remarkable return to calm.

“This is not just a military leader, but a true son of the soil, one who belongs to everyone, Muslims and Christians alike,” said a member of the delegation. “His dedication to unity, fairness, and justice makes us proud.”

Under General Musa’s guidance, peace and stability in Southern Kaduna have steadily improved. The delegation commended this transformation as a direct result of ongoing collaboration between the Defence Headquarters, the Kaduna State Government, and the Presidency — a triad working tirelessly to secure and unite the nation’s diverse communities.

Discussions during the visit went beyond symbolism. Key issues affecting the region were examined, with constructive proposals offered to ensure sustained peace. In response, General Musa reaffirmed his steadfast commitment to inclusive development and long-term harmony. He emphasized that professionalism, respect for all, and national cohesion remain central to his leadership ethos.

The delegation echoed these sentiments, stating, “Only a coward declares war in his own home. We, the people of Southern Kaduna, must continue to build on our gains through mutual respect, tolerance, justice, and fairness for all — regardless of faith, ethnicity, or status.”

The visit according to a press statement e-signed by Group Captain Chris Erondu,For Director, Defence Information stands as a shining example of what is possible when communities choose dialogue over division. It sends a clear message: that Nigeria’s strength lies in its unity, and that peace — though often hard-won — is achievable through shared vision and collective will.

This moment, marked by rare sincerity and cross-faith collaboration, is not only a milestone for Southern Kaduna but also a model for other regions and nations grappling with internal divisions.
