Nwifuru’s Aide, Ezzama DC Coordinator,Thugs Attack Admin Officer As Victim Alleges Fund Embezzlement

A 55-year-old Adminstrative Officer of Ezzama Development Centre, Mr. Ugota Emmanuel has accused the Coordinator of the DC,Henry Nnajiofor Nworie, of attacking him with his boys suspected to be political thugs loyal to the coordinator.

Speaking during an interview in an emotion laddened voice, Mr. Ugota Emmanuel recalled how the DC Coordinator, Henry Nnajiofor Nworie frustrated him last year when he was posted to Ezzama DC from assuming office, disclosing that the Coordinator prefered to work with the former Adminstrative Officer until the local government commission prevailed on the matter.

Mr. Ugota Emmanuel told journalists in Abakaliki that trouble started when he approached the Coordinator to present to him a mail from local government service commiasion on issues affecting the promotion of junior workers, when the Coordinator suddenly attacked him with his thugs.

He further accused that Coordinator of embezelmet of funds meant for the execution of projects.

Mr. Ugota said, “I went to office today and there was a mail from local government service commission on intinary of junior staff promotion. I went to his office, he was discussing with the Head of Department(HOD) Works. I sat down and waited for him.

“After they finished, I went closer to him and said Master, there is a mail from the local government service commissiion.He sparked and said when did I receive the letter, I told him on Monday afternoon and today you came to the office, he started shouting at me, he said he will slap me that he is not sponsoring anything.

“I said okay what of our out-station allowance that we traveled from Ezzama Development Centre to commission for a meeting. He said he has approved everything and I said he has not. Before I knew it, he slapped me. His thugs rushed me-four persons beating and hitting me. See my face.

“I have reported to my employer which is the local government service comission and they directed I should be taken to the hospital. The commission asked us to go while they wait for the day he will come.

Mr. Ugota Emmanuel said the Coordinator Henry Nnajiofor Nworie did not possess a character expected of a public office holder.

“He is not somebody that should be given adminstrative position. Since January I went there, he only comes to the office to dictate anytime money comes into Ezzama Development Centre. Millions of naira has been spent on unseen projects, carting away of money using the account of the retired HOD of works.

The victim further accused the coordinator of siphoning the funds of the council through non-existing projects.

“He said he embarked on N50 milion elecricity project but the DC has no light. He said the governor directed 60% project, but after withdrawing this money and pay to the HOD of works, you will not see any project. He will ask the HOD of works to transfer the money into his account”

He recalled his ordeals when he was posted to Ezzama DC before the commission prevailed on the former adminstrative officer, “I was posted to the DC on 13th December. He did not allow me take over because he said he was going to work with the other Adminstrative Officer until the commission called the former Adminstrative Officer on January 13th to handover to me.

“He did not allow the admistration to flow. He will say say that every mail should be given to him. He will keep it. What am I doing there. F&G, he will only come and dictate. He never minute mail to the admin officer.

When contacted on phone, Henry Nnajiofor Nworie, the Coordinator of debunked the allegations, adding that a higher authority, the Ebonyi State Local Government Service Commission had waded into the matter.

It was gathered that the attacked Administrative Officer, Ugota Emmanuel is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Abakaliki.
