By Pan Afric Reporters
Engr. Sunny Oche, Chairman of Ado Local Government, is committed to overseeing the timely and efficient completion of the Igumale-Agila road reconstruction project. Engr. Oche has been making regular visits to the construction site to monitor progress, engage with the civil engineers, and ensure adherence to the highest quality standards. His recent on-site inspection focused on maintaining quality and consistency, particularly given the onset of the rainy season.
The 31.5km Igumale-Agila road is part of a larger initiative by Benue State Governor Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, encompassing three major road projects totaling 126km. The Igumale-Agila component represents a significant investment of 19.3 billion Naira from a total of 30.2 billion Naira allocated to road projects in Benue South. This project is a joint effort, with the State Government providing 60% of the funding and the Local Government contributing 40%.
Engr. Oche according to a report e-signed by his Principal Private Secretary, Innocent Igelle expressed his satisfaction with the current pace and quality of work. He emphasized the importance of preventing premature road collapse and ensuring long-term durability, addressing past criticisms of budgetary mismanagement in similar projects. He has urged the contractors to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe, highlighting the road’s vital role in the community.
The Chairman praised Governor Alia for initiating this crucial project, which has addressed the long-standing neglect of the Igumale-Agila road. He attributed the influx of more development projects to Ado Local Government to the strong partnership he has established with the Governor. Engr. Oche called on the people of Ado to support the Governor’s efforts and pledged his continued commitment to attracting more legacy projects that benefit the community, focusing on infrastructure upgrades in schools, hospitals, and other essential areas.
