An aspirant for the governorship seat in Adamawa State, Engineer Diaulhaq Abubakar, has formally submitted his nomination for the 2027 gubernatorial election, expressing confidence in emerging victorious despite growing competition within his party.
Speaking shortly after the submission of his Forms Diaulhaq Abubakar, said his confidence stems from the support base he enjoys in Adamawa State and his achievements over the years.
“Because of the numbers of my people and what I’ve achieved so far, that gives me the assurance that, InshaAllah, I will be victorious,” he said.
The aspirant acknowledged the large number of contenders jostling for the party’s governorship ticket but maintained that he remains optimistic about his chances.
On his development agenda, Diaulhaq Abubakar said his administration would consolidate on the achievements of the incumbent government while introducing programmes aimed at social and economic inclusion.
“What I am going to do is to actually build on what the current governor has done so far,” he stated.
“We are going to focus more on social development and see how we can build a system that is going to lift our people, especially the young people and the women, out of poverty,” he added.
Responding to questions on whether he was among candidates allegedly endorsed by the governor, the aspirant dismissed the speculation, insisting that the party leadership had assured all aspirants of a transparent and fair process.
“I don’t know anything about endorsements. What I know is that APC has promised us that they are going to give us a level playing ground to give opportunity to our people to choose who they feel is going to liberate them into the future,” he said.
The engineer concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the development of Adamawa State if elected governor.
