PNC 2026: NCDMB, Bayelsa Govt Deepen Partnership, Unveil New Industry Initiatives
By Pan Afric Reporters
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with DMG Events, has strengthened collaboration with the Bayelsa State Government ahead of the 15th edition of the Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum, with new initiatives planned to expand local participation and create opportunities across Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, General Manager, Corporate Communications Division, NCDMB, on October 6, 2026, following a strategic engagement between NCDMB, DMG Events and the Bayelsa State Government in Yenagoa.
The 2026 PNC Forum is scheduled for November 30 to December 3 at the NCDMB Conference Centre, Yenagoa, with organisers seeking the state government’s continued support for the flagship industry gathering, which has been hosted in Bayelsa for the past 15 years.
Leading the NCDMB delegation, Ezeobi conveyed the appreciation of the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, to the Bayelsa Government for its longstanding partnership, particularly its support for the opening banquet and the Youth PNC programme.
The Youth PNC exposes young people in the Niger Delta to emerging opportunities in the oil and gas industry and equips them with competencies relevant to careers in other sectors of the economy.
Ezeobi also highlighted the economic impact of the PNC Forum and other NCDMB programmes in Bayelsa, while outlining new initiatives designed to make this year’s edition more engaging and valuable to participants.
The leader of the DMG Events delegation, Ms. Olamide Oloko, disclosed that the 2026 programme would feature a Local Content Roundtable on November 30, alongside a two-day programme specifically designed for Local Community Contractors (LCCs) to help them scale their operations.
Other new features include a stakeholders’ breakout session expected to generate perspectives that will shape the future direction of Nigerian Content over the next decade, as well as a Townhall Session involving key industry leaders.
The Townhall is expected to feature the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Chairman of the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) and the Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN).
Speaking on the Youth PNC, NCDMB Senior Manager, Zonal Coordination, Mr. Adebayo Joseph, outlined plans to further strengthen the youth-focused component of the conference.
Responding to the delegation, Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, pledged the state’s continued support for the PNC, assuring organisers of adequate security throughout the event.
Akpe also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to hosting the traditional gala dinner and participating actively in the main conference and Youth PNC, while commending NCDMB for integrating some participants from the 2025 Youth PNC into its capacity-building programmes.
The Deputy Governor, however, called for increased participation of senior officials from the oil and gas industry at the welcome gala dinner, stressing the importance of stronger engagement between industry leaders and participants.
The Practical Nigerian Content Forum, hosted annually by NCDMB and DMG Events, provides a platform for stakeholders to review local content implementation, identify emerging opportunities and chart new directions for investment and growth in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The 2026 edition is expected to deepen collaboration among government, industry and communities, strengthen Nigerian participation and enhance value retention across the oil and gas sector.
