Tinubu Reshuffles Key Federal Agencies, Approves 26 Strategic Appointments Across 10 Institutions

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 new officials into the boards and management of 10 key federal agencies and commissions in a sweeping move aimed at strengthening governance, improving institutional efficiency and accelerating the implementation of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, cut across critical sectors including power, fiscal management, agriculture, housing, population, education and atomic energy.
Among the high-profile appointments is former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, who was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). He will work alongside Non-Executive Directors Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, while the incumbent Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and the agency’s three Executive Directors will continue as members of the board.
In the National Salary and Wages Commission, President Tinubu appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman and former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas as Secretary.
Other members of the commission include Commissioners Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo State) and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna State), alongside members Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
The President also approved the appointment of Tosin Johnson Adeyanju as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, where he moves from his previous position as Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund.
Other appointments include Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), and Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
For the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State, Engineer Julius Oloro, a former local government chairman, was appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.
President Tinubu also reconstituted the leadership of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman alongside board members Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
In the education sector, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Prof. Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu.
The President further appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar and current Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority.
The latest appointments are expected to reinforce the operational capacity of the affected agencies and advance the Federal Government’s drive for improved service delivery, fiscal discipline, infrastructure development and economic transformation under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
All the appointments take immediate effect.
