According to the statement, the NCDMB and the Bank of Industry (BOI) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing the Fund during the Practical Nigerian Content Conference, an event attended by key stakeholders across Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The Board explained that the Bank of Industry is responsible for managing the Nigerian Content Equity Fund, while the recently inaugurated Investment Committee has been established to provide strategic oversight and advisory services on the effective and viable utilisation of the Fund.

Unlike conventional financing arrangements, the NCDMB noted that the Nigerian Content Equity Fund is structured to provide long-term financing to oil and gas service companies through equity investments rather than traditional debt instruments.

According to the Board, the innovative financing model is expected to strengthen indigenous companies by improving their access to long-term capital, enhancing their competitiveness and supporting sustainable growth within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
