DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: JULY 26 SEEING GOD BEHIND YOUR PROBLEMS (1) SCRIPTURE: ROMANS 8: 28; 2 CORINTHIANS 1: 4

Spread the love

God and human relationship is, in many cases, full of mysteries. How could God, who is an Almighty, relates with mankind to the extent of man talking to Him intimately?  How come there are evil and good happening to mankind created by God? How come sins entered into mankind created in the image and likeness of God? Who can also explain why God should be behind human problems? The angle this devotional is looking at is why should the Bible say: “…all things worketh together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8: 28)? Ordinarily, nothing bad ought to be happening to those called by God. A devoted Christian is not supposed to fall sick, has disappointment in marriage, go through strange illnesses and caught down by diseases. The list goes inexhaustibly. But the Bible says all things that happen to us happen for good on our side. This is faith speaking!

There are things we can never comprehend as humans in life time. Faith has enjoined us to see God behind all things happening to us as Christians. A look at a community story of the Mendes in Sierra Leone will help us understand this view. The story has it that two friends, a Prince and a friend went out for hunting. The friend of the Prince mistakenly shot at him, removing his two fingers. The friend consoled the Prince that “It is God’s wish, and it is for good.” The Prince sent the friend into prison. At another time, the Prince went hunting alone and got captured by man-eaters. On observations they discovered his fingers are cut off. They released him as unfit for meat. The Prince went, told his friend the story. The friend replied that sending him to prison also saved his life. That had it been he followed the Prince he would have been the one to be eaten up. He reminded the Prince that sending him to prison was “God’s wish and was good for him.” This explains how God deal with His people most often.

God does allow certain circumstances come on our ways either to save us for the future or prepares us for the next level ahead. The thrust of this devotional is that we Christians should not conclude that certain things happening to us are orchestrated by Satan, demons, enemies or the witches and wizards till we are able to ascertain that God is behind our troubles. All we need do is asking God to comfort us while passing through some unexpected in life till His purposes for us in the trouble is revealed. *The Bible says is God who “…comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which is trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Cor. 1: 4 KJV). Brothers and sisters, don’t you think what you are passing through now is preparing you for a better teacher on the situations tomorrow? God indeed allows some things come to us to have useful experiences to live better or become a comforter to others; who will be having such problems in future. Be consoled and place your faith and hope stronger on the LORD.

PRAYER:

LORD JESUS, I call upon you today to come and comfort me in my present situation to enable me reach the day God will show me His plan for my problems.

POSITIVE DECLARATION:

In all the days of my hard times, I will wait on God.
