The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Oche Sunday Oche has expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia (PhD) for the approval of the sum of 30.2 billion by the Benue State Executive Council (SEC) for the construction of rural roads in the state.
Engr. Sunny Oche according to a press release e-signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Samson Otokpa is most delighted with the inclusion of the Igumale-Agila road as captured by the plan. The Local Government boss has showered encomium on Rev. Dr. Alia for providing the 60% counterpart funding in addition to the 40% component of Ado Local Government Council.
The Chairman described the gesture as timely and interventionist owing to the very poor condition of the road. Engr. Sunny Oche has described the Igumale-Agila road as vital and that the road reconstruction will enhance connectivity and economic growth at the grassroots.
The Igumale-Agila road, which has long been a critical access road for Ado local communities, will facilitate smoother transportation of goods and provide access to basic services, markets and job opportunities, which can help improve the livelihoods of the locals once completed.
Hon. Oche emphasized that this development aligns with his vision and commitment to improving rural roads and other critical infrastructures in Ado Local Government, which are essential for fostering socio-economic activities by ensuring improved accessibility.
Recall that, recently, Engr. Sunny Oche engaged in a synergistic effort with Senator Onyeka Peter Nwebonyi representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District and Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate for the grading and rehabilitation of an interstate road between Benue State and Ebonyi State through the Ijigban axis of Ado Local Government Council.
The Chairman commended Governor Alia for prioritizing rural infrastructural development and urged other stakeholders to support ongoing efforts to enhance the state’s road network and other aspects of rural life that could reverse the rural-urban migratory trend.
Meanwhile, Engr. Oche has expressed his support and readiness to always collaborate with His Excellency, Governor Alia to achieve developmental strides in other aspects of critical infrastructures that will improve the lives of the rural communities in Benue State.
