Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has once again demonstrated his commitment to the development of the state by unveiling plans to host a Corporate Summit in 2025. This event aims to bring together Akwa Ibom indigenes who are major players in the corporate world, providing a platform for them to contribute to the state’s development.

The Governor made this announcement at the grand finale of a widows’ outreach program in Ndiya, Ikono Local Government Area, which was hosted by Ms. Emem Usoro, Deputy Governor Operations of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). He commended Ms. Usoro for her efforts in positively impacting her community and the state, aligning with the ARISE Agenda’s focus on rural development and health sector management.

 

The Governor’s vision for the Corporate Summit is to tap into the wealth of experience and expertise of Akwa Ibom indigenes in the corporate world, with the aim of driving development and growth in the state. This initiative is a testament to the Governor’s commitment to harnessing the potential of the state’s human resources to drive progress and prosperity.

 

In Ikono, the Governor’s administration has embarked on several projects aimed at improving the lives of the people. Some of the notable projects include the re-awarding of contract for the 10.9km Ikot Ayan-Urua Naira-Ikot Nseyen- Nung Ukim Road, comprising two 40-meter-span bridges, which will connect several communities in Ibiono Ibom and Ikono Local Government Area. Additionally, the government has commenced the construction of a model primary school in the area, and has released funds for the renovation of Lutheran Primary School lkot Akpa Edok, Ndiya.

The Governor’s administration is also committed to improving the healthcare sector in the state. In a gesture of goodwill, Governor Eno offered free enrollment in the State Health Insurance Scheme for 200 elderly citizens of Ikono, in support of the outreach program. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that the elderly and vulnerable members of the community have access to quality healthcare services.

 

The event was attended by top government officials, including Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Secretary to the State Government Prince Enobong Uwah, and Head of Service Elder Effiong Essien. The Governor’s commitment to development and his vision for the state are clear, and his administration is working tirelessly to ensure that the dividends of democracy are delivered to the people.

As the Governor continues to work towards the development of Akwa Ibom State, it is clear that his administration is committed to leaving a lasting legacy. With initiatives like the Corporate Summit and projects aimed at improving the lives of the people, the future of the state looks bright.
