DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: DECEMBER 19 WAYS TO WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH (1) SCRITPURE: JOHN 4: 23; PHILIPPIANS 3: 3

Well over four days now the devotionals have been on Believers and Worshipping. Within the days much on worship has been treated. We have seen what vain worship and true worship are, Christian wise at the course of the discussions. Today’s devotional is looking at some ways Christians can embark on worshipping God in Spirit and truth. Getting the knowledge of vain worship and true worship alone may not be sufficient. Getting to know the ways to worship God in Spirit and truth will do Christians great favour. Therefore, these two series are published to give Christians basic ways to worship God in Spirit and in truth.

In the lead text of John 4: 23, Jesus said two things concerning worshipping God. First He said “…time is coming – indeed it is now – when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” Secondly, Jesus said that “The father is looking for those who will worship Him that ways”. By direct interpretation of the first Jesus’ disclosure is that an appropriate time for worshipping God in spirit and truth is set aside; and of course is now. This means the dispensation of worshipping God in Spirit and Truth start from when Jesus was in the earth. We Christians of this present dispensation are to worship God in Spirit and Truth. Anything short of this is lawlessness.

Second point made by Jesus is that God is looking for those who will worship Him in this special way of Spirit and truth. This could mean there are God’s type of ways to worship Him. These ways are mode of the worship. Many devotionals and write ups suggested many ways God can be worshipped in Spirit and Truth. Pastor Kenneth Copland proffered seven (7) ways one can worship God in Spirit and in truth. Apostle Paul told the Philippi Christians that we Christians worship God by the Spirit and put no confidence in the flesh (Phil. 3: 3). A devotional from worshippingdevotional.com offered nine (9) ways. We will be looking at few of these from tomorrow’s discussions._

PRAYER:

FATHER JEHOVAH, I am very much ready to knowing how to worship you in Spirit and in truth, kindly prepare my mind and heart to know the ways to true and spiritual worships in Jesus name.
