DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: OCTOBER 1 GOD OF SECRETS (1) SCRIPTURE: DANIEL 2: 22; PSALM 139: 7 – 12
All human beings have secrets and hates anyone who reveals his or her secrets of the dirty life being lived. We all human beings want to know secrets of things around us, outside our environments as well as secrets about evils which stand before us. In another angle, we see thousands of people trooping to secret places seeking to know what will befall them in politics, marriages going into, businesses going into or why the businesses are falling apart. We are seen cress crossing streets and bush paths looking for one who can tell us every secret concerning us. Should there be anyone who excels in revealing secrets to secret-seekers, such becomes a most revered and feared.
With all the searching for these secrets, it seems some human beings do not know that the Almighty God knows all secrets of the world. These happenings question my curiosity if people are aware that God is God of secrets. Prophet Daniel makes us know that God is He who “…reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him (Dan. 2: 22 NKJV). How good will it be for all human to know, like King David puts it in Psalm 139: 7- 12 of how difficult it is for him to hid anywhere from God. God’s Spirit, according to David, sees all things, even those inside the rock, under the deep sea as well as in the darkness.
Is like we are in the world that people do heinous things yet never think God is seeing them. So many wicked things are plotted, carried out and put away from the mind as if God does not have recorded videos and photographs of all one did. In the religious circles, traditional circles, political offices and meetings, people plan and orchestrated wickedness off consciences. As we read this devotional, billions of Nigeria Naira, British Pounds Sterling, US Dollars and other countries’ currencies are stashed somewhere secretly by business men and women, political leaders, religious leaders, banks officials etc., while the common people are being starved of health care and other cares. The truth is, God sees all and knows what will happen next. This devotional is saying that God sees our evil doings and will one day expose us.
PRAYER:
FATHER LORD, forgive me of all the things I did in secrets and the evil secret things done by our leaders in Jesus name. Grant us the conscience to reject committing secret sins in Jesus name.
