Anambra Police Bolsters Security with Deployment of Over 70 Newly Passed-Out Constables

The Anambra State Police Command has received a major boost in its operational capacity with the deployment of over seventy newly passed-out constables from the Police Training College, Oji River, Enugu State.
In a statement released on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command confirmed that the new officers were part of the nationwide manpower enhancement initiative spearheaded by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.

According to the statement, “The new officers, who recently completed their training, form part of the ongoing efforts of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD NPM, to strengthen the manpower capacity across the Federation and enhance community policing at the grassroots level.”

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, expressed confidence that the deployment would further consolidate the state’s security architecture. He assured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to sustaining safety and peace across the state.

“CP Orutugu has assured the good people of Anambra State that the officers would be deployed strategically across divisions and formations to enhance visibility policing, intelligence gathering, and prompt response to security situations,” the statement added.
The Commissioner commended the Inspector-General of Police for his continuous support and strategic leadership aimed at fortifying the Force for effective service delivery.
With the new deployment, the Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with community stakeholders and security partners to ensure that Ndi Anambra continue to enjoy improved peace and safety.
