Eid al-Fitr: Umahi Urges Unity, Reaffirms Commitment to Infrastructure Development

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi  has congratulated Muslim faithful across the country on the successful completion of Ramadan, calling for renewed commitment to unity, peace, and national development.

 

In a goodwill message he personally e-signed to mark the Eid al-Fitr celebration, Umahi described the occasion as a period of “deep reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the values of sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and obedience to the will of Almighty Allah.”

He noted that the lessons of Ramadan should inspire Nigerians to live harmoniously and uphold shared values that foster national cohesion. “The lessons of Ramadan call us to live in peace with one another, uphold justice, and extend kindness to all, especially the less privileged,” he said.

 

The minister urged citizens to embrace tolerance and mutual respect as essential pillars for the country’s progress. “As we celebrate, I urge all Nigerians to continue to embrace unity, tolerance, and mutual respect, which remain essential to our collective progress as a nation,” Umahi stated.

 

He further called on Nigerians to use the festive period to offer prayers for the country’s stability and growth. “Let us also use this period to pray for the peace, stability, and sustained development of our dear country,” he added.

 

Reaffirming the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Works, Umahi assured that the government remains focused on delivering infrastructure that will enhance economic growth and improve livelihoods. “We remain committed to delivering critical infrastructure that connects our people, strengthens economic growth, and improves the quality of life for all Nigerians,” he said.

 

He concluded with prayers for the nation, expressing hope that the season would bring blessings and prosperity. “May Almighty Allah accept our prayers and acts of charity, and bless our nation with peace, prosperity, and good health,” he said.

 

The minister also extended his best wishes to Muslims, declaring, “Eid Mubarak.”
