As Muslims across the nation and the world celebrate Eid Kabir, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has extended heartfelt greetings and appreciation to members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the general public.
In a special Eid message e-signed by the Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau and make available to Pan Afric Reporters by Defence Information Directorate, General Musa praised the resilience, courage, and selfless service of troops stationed across Nigeria’s frontlines — from volatile regions to the country’s maritime and border domains. He emphasized that their unwavering dedication to duty continues to inspire hope and strengthen national confidence.
“You are an embodiment of patriotism, and your sacrifice will never go unrecognized,” the CDS stated, hailing the Armed Forces as a symbol of unity, professionalism, and discipline.
General Musa reaffirmed the military’s unshaken commitment to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and supporting civil authorities in the maintenance of peace and security nationwide. He urged citizens to remember that security is a collective responsibility and called for enhanced collaboration between the public and the security agencies.
“Kindly understand that security is a shared responsibility,” he said. “Your support and collaboration remain vital to national security. Let us continue to work together by providing credible information, promoting unity, and rejecting extremism and misinformation.”
Linking the spirit of Eid Kabir to national development, General Musa encouraged all Nigerians to embrace the values of sacrifice and unity to advance the country’s progress. He also reiterated his dedication to improving troop welfare, deepening joint operations, and leveraging modern technology to tackle evolving security threats.
“As the Chief of Defence Staff, I reaffirm my commitment to fulfilling our duties with honour and integrity,” he stated.
The message concluded with a rallying call for unity: “Let us all stand together — military, civilians, young and old — to build a peaceful, prosperous, and secure Nigeria. We have no other country than Nigeria. Together, we shall overcome our challenges and emerge stronger as one nation under God.”
