Ezza North Residents Raise Alarm Over Extortion, Intimidation By Ebonyi State Govt, Council Boss(Page 4)

Residents of Umuoghara in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State are currently groaning over alleged extortion and intimidation orchestrated by the State government and the Council Chairman, Chief Ogodo-Ali Nome.

A source from the area who pleaded anonimity said that the Ezza North local government authority and her agents enage ‘fake’policemen to forcifully extort businessmen and women, said to have built houses under electricity wire.

According to the source, the agents and ‘fake’ policemen have extorted over twenty million (N20, 000,000) for their victims.

The source said, “Pain in Ezza North LG Council as Council Boss and Ebonyi State Government commences defrauding Council men with business and buildings along the quarry Umuoghara LG road in disguise of building under electricity wire.

“Their agents hires hoodlums dress them as police to intimidate and force their targeted victims to pay certain amount of money which they claims they are to use and pull the pole.

“As we speak, they have exhorted more than 20m from ndi Umuoghara And have destroyed goods of those who fails to comply .

“I’m using this medium to draw the attention of Ebonyi State Government under Nwifuru Francis and the council Boss of Ezza North LG Moses Ogodoali to this evil before it becomes more destructive as youths are now ganging up to strike this bandits”, the source said.

All effort to get the reaction of Ezza North Council Chairman, Chief Ogodo-Ali Nome was unsucessful as at the time of filing this report.
