The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, on Tuesday, 7th October, 2025, joined the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, represented by AIG A
bayomi Peter Oladipo, PSC, at the Passing Out Parade ceremony of the 2022/2023 recruit constables held at the Police Training College, Oji River, Enugu State.

The colourful and well-attended event marked the successful completion of basic police training for thousands of new constables across the country. According to a press release e-signed by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the new officers are now

“fully equipped with the discipline, knowledge, and operational skills required to serve and protect the citizens under the vision of a reformed and community-oriented Nigeria Police Force.”
Delivering his address during the ceremony, the Inspector-General of Police charged the newly graduated constables to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights in the course of their duties.

The statement further noted that “CP Orutugu reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Command to align with the IGP’s strategic policing vision for safer communities and improved public confidence.”
The event was graced by senior police officers, representatives of sister security agencies, government officials, traditional rulers, and families of the graduating recruits, all gathered to celebrate what the Command described as a “milestone achievement in strengthening the capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.”

SP Ikenga concluded the statement by commending the efforts of the new constables, adding that their successful completion of training marks “a new chapter of service, discipline, and dedication to the ideals of national security and community partnership.”
